Genuary 22: Shadows

I liked the effect of trying to add shadows to circles.

Genuary 15: Jumping

I jumped and the sine wave changed! Jumping on the pressure mat caused the frequency of the sine wave to randomly change, via Processing and an Arduino. Video on Flickr: Pressure mat and sine waves.

Genuary 16: Reflection of a reflection

I took a photo of a reflection and flipped it, and then created a fake reflection of that in Processing, adding some speckles and flipping it.

Genuary 8: Sequins sparkling

The theme for day 8 was "signed distance functions". I did not know what they were but I read the Wikipedia page, I watched videos, and eventually understood what they were. I did not really do anything exciting with them though, just iterated on playing with circles.

They ended up looking kind of like sequins.

I've been taking part in Genuary this month. The idea is to create generative art every day for the month of January, and there are prompts given every day.

Genuary 1: Zoetrope

The prompt for the 1st was "Perfect loop / Infinite loop / endless GIFs", but on the 1st of January, I did not have access to a computer. At first I tried making slides for an old View Master I found, but that was too tricky, so I ended up making a simple Zoetrope, with a marble in the middle. I rolled dice to determine where coloured dots should be placed.

Genuary 2: Listening to coffee

For the prompt, "Made in ten minutes", I made a cup of coffee and listened to it for 10 minutes. The sounds changed as the temperature changed. I used an Arduino, a temperature sensor and Processing for this. See the video on Flickr by clicking the image:
