Beer, Artichoke, and Carambola

Queuing in the hypermarket, the person in front of me purchased oversized cans of beer that resembled tins of dog-food. I went home and chewed on artichoke leaves and star-shaped pieces of carambola.

Oh, right like persimmons is sharon fruit...
That one I don't get... It looks nothing like a sharon...

Picture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carambola) of a Carambola. They look star-shaped when sliced, but not really before that. Sharon fruit is indeed strange!
