My tape collection is a something iof an elephnt's graveyrad also, although I have thinned it out somewhat (or at least put some of the less necessary stuff in a shoebox).

I still have a lot of spoken work on tape, however, where the loss of quality doesn't matter...

I remember Superted - goes with Bananaman in my memory, which is about the same period, I think (must check TV Cream, who know everything)

Excerpt from an old Diary 2003

"If, God forbid, I ever found myself on Mastermind, Yes, yes, thank you, you can stop now, then my specialist subject would be Children’s TV from around the 70’s. Don’t know why I remember this stuff, I just do.
There’s one program, however, that I have tried and tried to explain to people and almost without exception, no one remembers it. The ‘almost’ in that last sentence is my Mum, bless her. The name of the program in question? Joe. It had got to the point where I was beginning to think I was one of those kids with an invisible friend, and Mum was just humouring her beloved, ‘artistic’ son.
And then comes along http://tv.cream.org and I quote:

JOE (early-mid '60s)
BBC
Watch with Mother segment animated in similar style to Mary Mungo and Midge, concerning the self same kid whose father ran a roadside transport cafe. Unfortunately, Joe's behaviour in the series left a lot to desired, including throwing mud at an ice cream van... at least, we hope it was mud and not a forerunner of the 'dirty protest' which was to become so popular in high security prisons during the seventies...

...CATCHPHRASE - "OH, JOE!"

I am not mad. I love this site."

I am having problems thinning mine already - every tape seems to hold some kind of sentimental value!
