It might not be cool, since I haven't decided quite what I'm going to put on the tapes yet. I will probably aim for music, but if I get bored of that, it will end up being SuperTed or how to do chemistry experiments.

I found some old tapes with the S.H.A.G.G.S on them, I should listen to that. I'd give an address if I had one but when I do put me down for some SuperTed.

My tape collection is a something iof an elephnt's graveyrad also, although I have thinned it out somewhat (or at least put some of the less necessary stuff in a shoebox).

I still have a lot of spoken work on tape, however, where the loss of quality doesn't matter...

I remember Superted - goes with Bananaman in my memory, which is about the same period, I think (must check TV Cream, who know everything)

There’s one program, however, that I have tried and tried to explain to people and almost without exception, no one remembers it. The ‘almost’ in that last sentence is my Mum, bless her. The name of the program in question? Joe. It had got to the point where I was beginning to think I was one of those kids with an invisible friend, and Mum was just humouring her beloved, ‘artistic’ son.

My tapes have just got a new lease of life, having just 'acquired' a 1990 Toyota Camry which only has Tape Cassette/Radio. We have been re-visiting my old compilations until we pass the 'Welcome to Essex' sign from where we can pick up the local Bhangra station until Hackney. Splendid.

St Leonards-on-Sea looks strangely unreal in that picture. I don't think it's just the HDR processing, that whole scene just looks somehow like an idealised place. Like a screenshot from a new Pixar short or something.

I would like to note that when I bought my car two years ago, I made sure to purchase one that had a cassette player. I keep a big basket of tapes by the front door and grab at them randomly.

I've also found some fine tapes at the Goodwill for $.50. Treasures! Absolute Treasures!

I should probably put a few of mine in my mum's car, since for some reason, we seem to constantly listen to my brother's tapes of mostly Oasis/Blur/Pulp, even when he's not there.

My cassette tape to cassette tape recording seems to no longer work, so I may attempt something like MP3 player > computer > CD > cassette tape. :)

I am having problems thinning mine already - every tape seems to hold some kind of sentimental value!

It probably is the HDR processing, since it does tend to make places look not quite real. I jumped out of the car I was driving briefly to take the photo, because I just couldn't resist that hut. :)

That seems long winded somehow.

But then of my two conviently located cassette players, neither records. One doesn't have advanced features like rewind, and no longer appears to be able to play at the correct speed (having been unused for almost its entire life).The other has no cover for its battery hole, but seems to work otherwise.

I seem unable to get rid of some of them, they just all remind me of who made me the mix tapes, or who I borrowed the album off, etc! I just sit there and rummage through them and get awfully nostalgic.

I have lots more that I am convincing myself to get rid of though, so yes, add your address, and eventually I'll send one. I am still trying to decide what to put on them, so it might take some time. :)
