What did you do in 2013 that you’d never done before?

Climbed over the Millennium Dome, cross-stitched space invaders and QR codes, saw a basking shark in the sea, went inside Battersea Power Station and gazed up in awe, drew in 3D (with a 3D printing pen), ate purple carrots, walked backwards around a 1000 year old yew tree seven times and made a wish, learnt Processing and created an app to draw art on my phone while I slept, went to Atlantis, saw an upside down house, ate dark chocolate & porcini ice-cream, licked an obelisk, saw the shortest lighthouse in Britain, tasted bitters made with moisture extracted from Winston Churchill's war rooms, went on a funicular in London, visited Yahoo!'s London office, visited the Museum of Water and saw water squeezed from fresh PlayStation 3 consoles, which if you drink it turns the user into a video game character after midnight, watched some of The Time Machine in alphabetical order, made a Tetris necklace, saw a handkerchief tree in bloom, ate yuzu ice-cream, went to a museum crammed with instruments that played themselves, went inside Wellington Arch and saw photos of brutalist architecture, visited the smallest park in the UK, listened to interesting tech-related talks on a converted East German fishing vessel, climbed the Monument, made a Horny Werewolf Day diorama that lit up when you touched bits of it, using conductive thread, conductive ink and wires that I soldered, admired the views from One Canada Square and the Shard, wrote my 7th novel of at least 50,000 words in the month of November for NaNoWriMo, attached food to a Makey-Makey and made things happen using Scratch, visited a 16-sided house and saw collages made of seaweed and a shell gallery, made seitan, saw Knightmare Live and the real Treguard afterwards, played space invaders where I could shoot quotes from Foucault, wandered inside the Crystal Palace Subway, ate a purple sweet potato KitKat, made a piece of art for every day in August for the second year running, gazed at the sea and saw Santas surfing, chased a butterfly underneath a rainbow.

I did not leave England in 2013 and my travels around the country were not that extensive. I'm sure I've left off many places I've visited, but anyway, here's an attempt at a list:

Bucks, Devon, Essex, Herts, Kent, London, Notts, Staffs )
