Tube walk 29 involved walking from Boston Manor to Northfields. The route was a bit more convoluted than I had expected, but enjoyable. I arrived at Boston Manor a little early, so wandered past Blondin allotments (named after the French tightrope walker) and then sat underneath a tree, eating strawberries and talking to grasshoppers.

The tube walk itself firstly involved meeting [livejournal.com profile] tubewalker, [livejournal.com profile] barrysarll, [livejournal.com profile] mzdt, [livejournal.com profile] hoshuteki, [livejournal.com profile] miss_newham and then a cat. We peered into an abandoned pavilion at Boston Manor playing fields, before walking underneath the M4 motorway bridge, where we looked at graffiti, rusty machinery and a bucket filled with paint. After that, we ended up back in another playing field and climbed over a fence to get to Boston Manor House.

Boston Manor House itself did not seem that interesting, but my attention was held by an amazing old tree with swooping elephant trunk thick branches that was growing in the grounds.

As we walked along the Grand Union Canal, I felt transfixed by the beautiful, yet sinister GlaxoSmithKline building and the clouds reflected in the vast panes of glass. I learnt some words of Thai in a pub, wandered through parts of Brentford that seemed laden with the houses of celebrities I'd never heard of, and then arrived at the destination of Northfields tube station.
