It was the interval and Dylan Moran had left the stage for a while at Winchester's Theatre Royal. Ice-cream was being sold, so I clambered over the other people in the row to purchase a tub of Purbeck Chilli Red ice-cream. The combination of cold creamy ice-cream, a hint of fridge flavour, and a slight burning sensation in my mouth afterwards, did not really make for pleasant ice-cream, at least not by itself. I'll stick to lavender in the future. On return to Southampton, I found The Victory, opposite the station, had intentions to close down the next day, so were very much lacking in drinks, but at least they had a little Tia Maria left, to wash the taste away.

Last time I came to see you, it looked as if the Victory had already closed down.

Yeah, it has indeed not looked lively, but this time it is apparently actually closing down.

The Victory has the dubious honour of having been the purveyor of the most pitiful lasagne I have ever been served!
