I remembered the remnants:

Dark roots of hair,
Fizzed up sherbet,
A neon sign with blue lightning bolts,
A deserted room.

The night,
A game of snap,
Half-closed eyelids,
A lampshade speckled with paint.

A leftover word,
A skip, full of sand,
A pinafore hung from a tree.

*laughs*

I didn't recognise what the skirt was made of at first (-:D

It has fallen apart a bit now, so I might remove some disks and find out.

ah, that's a pity. was a funky skirt that. was wondering about it's durability though. how much was it, and when did you get it?

and yeah, it might be interesting to see what's on them. although if they're all blank it might be a little disappointing

That's awesome!

Have you got a high res version of that? I'd love to put it in the mag. We're crazy about re-using odd materials and that is a perfect example! Looks very cybery too...

Unfortunately, I did not make the skirt myself, but bought it on eBay (from someone in York I think- I can tell you the username if you want to ask them about it?). These are the pictures from eBay: 1 (http://i8.ebayimg.com/02/i/03/46/db/ff_1_b.JPG), 2 (http://i13.ebayimg.com/02/i/03/46/f4/3d_1_b.JPG). The original pictures of me look a bit too fuzzy, I think: 1 (http://jodi.freeshell.org/dscn2488.jpg), 2 (http://jodi.freeshell.org/dscn2486.jpg), 3 (http://jodi.freeshell.org/bw2488.jpg).

Fantastic skirt - if daleks had wandered the Left Bank selling the International Herald Tribune in the 60s rather than plotting to destroy the world, I think they would probably have looked like that...

Woah!
The skirt looks both old and new.
New for obvious reasons and old... because it reminded me of the armor these Chinese terracotta-warriors wear.
"Cyber-Warrior Jodi" :)

Are they high density or low density floppies?

The disks have not quite enough storage space to hold old episodes of Doctor Who, otherwise it would be.
