Dressing as a giant squid before it snows

It was the night and I was no longer dressed as a giant squid. The costume I had worn earlier that evening did not manage to entirely mirror the appearance of a giant squid, but I had spent a lot of time with a devil fish and a sea turtle.
I had got to Basingstoke and there were delays and my toes were beginning to become numb. Under my black coat, I was wearing all white - a cut-up old nightie and a white jumper, and when I stepped off the train, I saw the white patterns tumbling through the dark sky and grinned. There was time to walk defiantly to the end of the platform and then as I stood there next to the lamp post, I stared up at the sky that seemed to be magenta, letting the snow melt on me.
