Today, at work, I made a tornado. No metaphors involved, a real twisty misty swirl.

(Tornado-creating was just one of the exhibits at the Intech Centre in Winchester, a hands-on science type centre for children. My company held a departmental meeting there today, and the babble about green buttons and technical luvvies was soon forgotten when we got to try out the educational exhibits. "The hand is the cutting edge of the mind," it said outside the centre, quoting Jacob Bronowski.)

>after hearing about a tornado that has just hit Florida

I didn't create the Florida tornado, it was a very small localised in a science centre tornado, really it was! (Although when I was in Florida last year, and heard that a tornado was coming, I secretly hoped it would hit there, even though it would have meant I'd have to stay in the office for days, since they told me it would be the safest place to be. I blame the Wizard of Oz (and maybe Eerie, Indiana).)

>Then I looked at your new user pic ( which is really good btw )

Thanks. :)

>she plays god in a film (which I cant remember the name of).

Dogma?

>YOU are actually god

Ah, you've guessed my secret. ;) Are you a spellchecker? (some strange spell-checkers correct my name to "god")

Heh, i've wished that too. With earthquakes tho. When I was younger I went to the natural history museum but the earth quake simulator was broken :(

I hope there wont be one in Japan when I visit... *crosses fingers behind back*

Dogma, that's the one :)

I'm definately not a spell checker no. I seem to type words as they sound in my head and let the computer do the rest.. my name gets changed to tube sometimes, which I quite like :D

The earthquake simulator at the Natural History Museum was working when I went there last year, so I've experienced an earthquake (albeit an artificial one). :)

Tube? Cool. Names are always fun to play with. My brother is also called Toby, and I always found his name easy to represent when writing picture letters to him, where as my name is a little trickier.

Dam you, i will get back to it one day! although surley you could create your own personal one at your will anyway..

Tube is more from Tobe, which I use sometimes :)
I'm intruiged as to what you'd use to represent Toby in pictures, although i've got a funny feeling it's a dog, as most people seem to think Toby is a dogs name..

The Natural History Museum is free these days as well, which is always a bonus. My friends tend to complain when I try to create pretend earthquakes by shaking tables.

Toby, only represented by the sounds, as opposed to any meanings.. just a "toe" and a "bee", nothing complicated there. :)
