I went to Rome!

I saw the Colosseum, the Forum and Palatine Hill. I also visited the Altar of the Fatherland, some Roman Insula (flats), Trajan's Column, as well as the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, and the Galleria Sciarra (a pretty courtyard) and Zuccari Palace which had monster faces.

I ate pear and blue cheese, and Thumbelina (violet and rose petals) flavour ice-creams.

I visited the Pantheon and did an Ingress banner of the Pantheon. I also stared at the elephant and the obelisk, visited the San Luigi dei Francesi church and saw the Caravaggio paintings there, visited the Jesuit Church of Saint Ignazio and marvelled at the dome illusion, visited Hadrian's Temple, Piazza Navono, the marble foot, and the Water City - Vicus Caprarius.

I also met The Baboon, and Madama Lucrezia, who were talking statues.

I ate coffee and yellow peach flavour ice-creams.

I visited some examples of Fascist architecture- Ministry for economic development, BNL building, INA, and the Grand Hotel Palace.

I walked around Borghese Park and saw turtles in the lake, and the water clock.

I sat in Piazza del Popolo for a while, amongst Neptune, the obelisk and the sphinxes.

I ate grape, strawberry and ginger, and Hokkaido pumpkin flavour ice-creams.

I visited Trajan's markets. I ate lunch at a vegetarian restaurant and ate delicious shining artichoke on a bed of saffron mash and with mint sorbet and savoury crumble.

I visited the Vatican City and walked inside St Peter’s Basilica, and then the expansive Vatican Museums, including the Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel.

I visited the Basilica di San Clemente, which had an interesting underground bit.

I also visited the Domus Aurea, which was Nero's Golden Palace.

I saw a magic door in a park, and the random wall in the MacDonald's at the main station.

I ate basil and marsala ice-creams.

I went to the Aqueduct Park and saw the remains of some majestic aqueducts as well as walking on a really old road, and I saw more turtles swimming in the pond there.


I went to drinks at the Owl and Hitchhiker.

I met up with [profile] renegade_badger and we walked along the Southbank, stared at the graffiti in Leake St, and wandered around the still deserted Sidings at Waterloo.

I went to Reading and met up with some Ingress players and we did a banner.

I saw my family for my mum's birthday and we walked around Battersea Park.

A friend visited London and we went to Battersea Power Station and stared at the machines in the bar there while drinking cocktails. We went to Novelty Automation and played games. We went to Japan House and saw an exhibition on woodwork. We went to the V&A and went inside the replica Trajan's Column there.

I visited the Spruth Mager's gallery and saw an exhibition that made me feel almost as if I was in the Stanley Parable.

I went to the Zabludowicz Collection and saw the LuYang NetiNeti exhibition.

I took myself out to dinner at Cafe Bao and ate fries with maple syrup, and Horlicks ice-cream bao.

I went to the Frieze Sculpture Park in Regent's Park.

I visited the V&A and saw Maurice Bloomfield's industrial photos. I ate a vegan pastel de nata. I walked across the Hammersmith bridge and walked around the Leg O' Mutton reservoir.

I walked around Walpole Park in Ealing and did an Ingress banner.

I took photos of fungi in Richmond Park.

For Ingress Second Sunday, I did a banner that started at Tower Hill.
