Friday:

Just as I felt my finger being bitten by the hamster belonging to my next door neighbours (who seem to be in the band Dilutral), I imagined the frittered sounds of someone walking up the staircase in my house and it was then that I became less concerned about what I hear.

Saturday:

Polyester resin is mentioned in the Reader's Digest Family Book of Things to Make and Do in the section on Acrylics. A few paragraphs describe how to make castings, as well as recommending that flowers should be treated with preservative before being embedded. Teasels are one of their preferred objects, where as other people prefer pancakes, or making casts of door knobs or leaf shapes. One way of making casts is to make a model from plasticine or similar, then a mould of that using liquid latex, and then to mix the hardener and resin and pour it into the latex mould. Some instructions that are vaguely similar to the Reader's Digest ones can be found on the Resin-supplies website.

Anyway, I finally bought some, after looking at pictures in that Reader's Digest book for many years. The hardener may cause burns. I am unsure what I am going to make a model of yet. I could embed pink paisley or one of my eyes, or make models of ginger ale or nuclear bunkers.

After meeting some Barbelith people in a pub that seemed near the BT tower, and after going to [livejournal.com profile] slimelight, and after climbing into an unsuitable taxi, and after getting a ride in a police car, it became just after dawn again and the sky was streaked with pink, so I ended up taking many photos of cranes.

Hard drives and modems might be too thick, unless you get the expensive industrial strength resin, I would imagine. Maybe you could chop them into little bits first, which might defeat the point of embedding them.

Slimelight is okay - I went with [livejournal.com profile] flange, who you probably remember from Fidonet.

Just about. Fidonet seems so long ago now.

Will seemed to think he saw you a few months ago, or did he imagine it?

Possibly he imagined it, or is thinking of someone else. I don't get out that much.
