What I did in June 2021

I actually went to a social event and saw some friends in June! It was amazing!!! The first actual proper social event I'd been to since March 2020!
That social event was
I had my second dose of vaccine at the Science Museum!
I went to visit my mum one weekend. The Friday night was Maraoke, so we watched people sing about video games and sung along from home. The next day, we took the train to Rochester and it was weird to be there without seeing any Morris dancers, bands, crowds of people, etc, as we usually go there for May Day. We had a nice time though. We walked along the river for a while, sat on a bench and watched people (people exist! it's odd!) and drank coffee, peered at Dicken's chalet, went in some charity shops, and walked up to the castle.
That Sunday, we walked through fields of poppies and then into the woods and everything had grown and it felt magical in there.
Another day, we walked to some other woods and there were ox-eye daisies everywhere and some pyramidal orchids.
I saw my family, and it was lovely to see them, and we went for a walk in the rain to the river.
I met up with
For Ingress First Saturday, I decided to attend the event in Rapa Nui, and looked on the map for portals on the island and identified them, and did a quiz about the place.
I created an Ingress banner in the Rotherhithe area, so went to try it out. I walked by the river and then through Russia Dock Woodland, and it was a pleasant walk.
I found there was a sound walk in Orleans House Gardens, so listened via the Echoes app and walked through the nettles and cow parsley.
I went to the Tate Britain and saw a strange apocalyptic installation, which I enjoyed: Heather Phillipson’s Rupture No 1: Blowtorching the bitten peach.
I looked at photos of architecture that are tied to railings in Marble Hill Park. I walked around Richmond Park one evening, and saw deer almost immediately and a woodpecker!
I went to Marylebone and spent a few hours in the sunshine walking around the streets doing an Ingress banner.
One weekend, I took a trip into central London, following an Ingress banner. I walked from Waterloo to Piccadilly Circus and then through Leicester Square and then to Trafalgar Square, but it was closed due to the football, so I couldn't reach the portals that were there. I then headed to St James's Square, and then back again to Leicester Square, and then to Covent Garden. Then the route passed Somerset House, so I popped in to wander around the "forest" they have there in the centre. After that it was onwards to St Paul's and to Bank and Monument, and I looked around Leadenhall Market as there was some neon, but the neon wasn't just in shop windows like I thought, but inside one shop, which was closed on Sundays. Still, I saw some neon! Then eventually I got to Tower Hill and found that some more of the portals are no longer accessible without paying to go in, so that was annoying. I walked over Tower Bridge, where they were pasting large photos of people on the road, and finished the banner, and then did an extra mission to make up the gap by going in Hay's Galleria, and then I visited Tesco and bought a meal deal, and ate a sandwich by the river before walking along the South Bank and back to Waterloo. 12 miles! I got Time Out in Foyles! Time Out! I stared at books also.
