I experimented with a xylophone, a piezo and an Arduino. Having the piezo sellotaped to a table and putting down my coffee cup made the LED light up! Sellotaping the piezo underneath a key on the xylophone and then playing the xylophone made the LED light up! But.. it made the xylophone not sound as good.
