Acropolis

I went on holiday to Athens and saw all the sights! I wandered around Aristotle's Lyceum and imagined him there. I saw Hadrian's arch and Hadrian's library and wondered about the books that would have been there. Athens was surprisingly cold! I learnt the names of the different winds at the Tower of the Winds. I walked up to the Acropolis and was in awe of the size of it. I wandered around the Panathenaic Stadium and listened to tales of what happened there in the past. I visited the Temple of Olympian Zeus and imagined how impressive it would have looked with all its pillars. I ate pomegranate and mastic ice-cream, and mastiha liqueur. I peered through gates to look at Hadrian's Reservoir. I ate dolmades and zabione ice-cream. I played pinball in the Athens Pinball Museum on many different machines, some strange and unusual, some old and some new. I visited the Industrial Gas Museum and also went to a Banksy exhibition at the Technopolis. I visited the Museum of Ancient Greek Technologies and marvelled at the first vending machine and the first robots. I visited Socrate's Prison. I ate baklavas crema ice-cream. I visited the Ancient Agora and the Roman Agora. I visited the Museum of Greek Folk Musical Instruments and stared at cow bells. I visited the archaeological site of Kerameikos, the old cemetery. On my birthday, I went on the funicular and admired the views of Athens, and the sun shone and the sky was blue, and later, I saw sunset from the plane.

Photos on Flickr: Athens.

I visited Sheffield for work twice and remember swimming in the pool at the hotel I stayed at.

I went to the London Lovecraft Festival with [personal profile] glyn and we saw Patient 462, The Collectors of Screams and Late night with Cthulhu, all of which were different but interesting.

I went to Galentine's Day karaoke with my colleagues and sung songs at the Smithfield Karaoke Box.

I visited the Lego cafe on the South Bank, but was disappointed the cakes weren't really edible and the coffee wasn't actually made of Lego.

I ate lunch with friends at Stem & Glory, kimchi pancakes and patatas bravas.

I went to Flight at the Vaults Festival with [personal profile] jacquic, and took a flight on a plane and this consciousness survived at least.

I went to Margate with my mum and walked on the beach and to Walpole Bay and Palm Bay. We went to the Turner Gallery and saw A Place that exists only in moonlight by Katie Paterson & JMW Turner, which was a wonderful exhibition. I sniffed a candle with different scents of the universe, saw a mirror ball of solar eclipses, letters of condolence for dead stars, heard Beethoven's Moonlit Sonata after it had been sent to the moon and then came back.

Ingress:

I went to a First Saturday event in Chesham and wandered around in the snow and played on a swing.

I went to drinks at the William IV.

I finally finished the Towers of London banner! 504 missions!

I went to Athens for an Anomaly and the Enlightened won!

Yes. Athens is wonderful town. And although it include some nonperfect places (district nearby Omonia metro station and near Pireus) I like this town!
Spirit of ancient Athens are present yet.

Are Your visited Poseidon Temple at the Sunio? There is small myth - and I think contemporary for tourists - about Poseidon Temple. Who didnt see Poseidon Temple that didn`t see Greeсe. :)
