This year, I'm attempting to participate in NaNoGenMo, which is National Novel Generation Month, where the aim is to generate a novel in the month of November.

I've started off attempting to play with simple markov chains, using a corpus of bits of previous novels I have written.

Here's a bit of the output so far:

"It started with a banging of a boy whose hair resembled dried flowers. The things she remembers the gate at the sea cabbage¿ he asked. ¿No!¿ I said, remembering her story, ¿you should show me where the smell of wood grain moving closer to the hay barn, he had said them.. The girl with the green coat, pulls her back, not wanting her to wear something that is full of sleeping people, none of those things, and they can't, he is with him that she can tell just by the council and surprisingly free. Tumbling out from the windows quite well if it were a team derived from seeing words on a cardboard box, and he wonders where the people are, they pass through a tunnel, but it is some comfort."

I'm aiming to try different techniques and mix up text in different ways as the month goes on.

I really like how this is working from unpublished sources, rather than the usual Markov-chaining of half-remembered or checkable text.

Thanks for the reminder about NaNoGenMo, I've made a start myself.
