I hid inside trees, photographed purple fungi (jelly drops), visited the Royal Oak, wandered past rutting deer and underneath loudly chirping parakeets, walked through the bracken, and stroked the silk inside a chestnut shell.

The silk inside beech shells is lovely. I don't think I've tried the silk inside chestnuts shells. I shall endeavour to do so!

Also, climbing inside trees? Awesome.

I like beech shell silk too!

I remembered singing the Autumn Days hymn at primary school and wondered what the silk inside a chestnut shell was actually like to stroke.. :)

"Autumn days when the grass is jewelled, and the silk inside a chestnut shell. Jet planes meeting in the air to be refuelled. All these things I love so well."
