Hastings Country Park

I walked across the cliff-tops, past the bluebells, aquilegia, wild garlic, campion, gorse, red beetles, yellow nettles, ferns, streams, and rabbits, and peered down at the ocean below. (I also got burnt by the sun, covered in mud, and got fed up of the flies.)

The East Hill Lift (funicular railway) took me down into Hastings itself, and then I visited the Shipwreck Museum, which had details of the Amsterdam shipwreck in Bulverhythe and others.

I would love to visit that museum, and I'm not much of one for museums, but shipwrecks are just about one of the most beautiful things I ever see.

Also, in irrelevant news, for some reason, well, because it sort of rhymes, whenever I see your names, my brain slovenly improvises an offbeat lyrically diverse version of Simon and Garfunkel's 'Cecilia.'

Oh, I was just about to comment on your entry, but then it reminded me of engulfed somehow and then I started reading some of her entries.

Anyway, I tried to see the shipwreck later that day, the Amsterdam, but it is only really visible every month or so, and it wasn't one of those times, but I could see bits poking up, in approximately the right place, but I am not sure if it was actually the shipwreck or rocks or prehistoric forests. I will have to go back there again on a day when it is actually visible.

I do not know Simon and Garfunkel's Cecilia, but I have a persona named Cecilia. She is retired, lives on the Isle of Man and likes to travel in space in her spare time. That's all I remember.

All i remember about Hastings is; it was very cold when i was there, and booking a hotel from my phone while on the beachfront as we had turned up there with no plan what-so-ever. :)
