What I did in March 2022
May. 4th, 2022 02:55 pmVisited the Vimto monument in Manchester:

When March started, I was on holiday in Norfolk and it was lovely there, being by the sea.
I visited Cromer and walked along the pier, saw the Banksy art, and walked to East Runton and found fossils.
I walked from Overstrand to Trimingham beach and walked across crumbling clifftops.
I walked by the beach huts at Wells-next-the-Sea and in the dunes.
I used Oyumaru to make a mould to make shells out of clay, and then painted them with glow in the dark paint.
Back in London, I went gallery hopping. I liked the paintings made from dancing with objects such as drones and laptops covered in paint and placing them repeatedly on paper. I also liked the copper wire wrapped objects such as iPhones and monitors and computer cables. I ate salty hazelnut praline nitro ice-cream. I visited the Japan Centre and tried natto for the first time! I liked it. I also tried the sweet and sour pickled plum crisps.
I went on holiday to Manchester and had an amazing time! I stayed in a hotel for the first time since the pandemic. I met up with a person from a dating site and we visited the Museum of Science and Industry, walked around some of the ruins, had dinner at Bundobust, and went to the Washhouse and Dusk 'til Pawn. The next day we visited the Stockport Air Raid Shelters and I was shown the location of secret ones.
I did an Ingress banner and visited the Vimto monument and the Turing bench.
I had dinner with
perezvon at the Mackie Mayor food hall and it was great to catch up.
I ate frozen yogurt and then had dinner with
almadsfeika and it was lovely to see them.
I visited Castleton and took a boat ride through the Speedwell Cavern, stared up at the beautiful stalactites in the Treak Cliff Cavern, and I went inside the Devil's Arse!
I visited the Waterstones where Jeff Noon apparently worked while he was writing Vurt and looked out for signs of Vurt while I was there.
I wandered around the John Rylands Library which was impressive.
I ate plum crumble ice-cream at Ginger's Comfort Emporium.
I met up with other Ingress players to do the Wolf of Wall Street banner for Second Sunday and we walked around the city.
I ate green tea rice cake toast with
steelfusion and we saw Yoko Ono's Imagine Peace sign at Piccadilly Circus.
I visited the village and walked through the fields and in the woods and saw a few bluebells! I swung on the swing in the woods.
My mum and I visited Folkestone and I swam in the sea! It was a bit cold though so I didn't stay in for long.
I made a tentacle to take to EMFCamp. It is made from chicken wire, masking tape and cling film and I painted it with conductive paint so that it makes sounds when you wave your hands over it. Video of the tentacle: https://flic.kr/p/2na2Z3T
I embarked on my King's Arms project and in March had drinks with
froodthehoopy at one in Fitzrovia.
I visited the Stanley Picker Gallery in Kingston and then on my way home, visited a King's Arms in Teddington. It snowed then while I was in the pub.
