St David's

Last Thursday, I visited St David's, Britain's smallest city, and took a look at the cathedral.

When I lived in Wales, I borrowed a book from the library about Welsh folklore and it mentioned that it may be possible to see fairy islands if you take a piece of turf from the churchyard at St David's and stand on it. I took a few blades of mown grass, but have yet to try standing on them.

On Thursday, as well as visiting St David's, I wandered on Whitesands beach, which was busy with surfers and then walked along the cliff tops. I visited Abereiddy later that day, saw a stonechat, explored the remains of stone cottages that the workers from the slate quarries would have lived in, and then walked up the hill to stare into the water at the Blue Lagoon.

On Friday, I visited Nevern, to see the bleeding yew:
