Butterflies, stars and trautoniums
Dec. 1st, 2008 03:00 pmSometimes when you get the wrong tram, you end up at the merry-go-round.

wintrmute and I ate butterflies on Friday night, before going to the Noise Bar, to see experimental bands such as Daggers Midflight. The Experimental Melbourne blog lists various experimental music gigs in Melbourne, and I intend to go to more of them in future.
--
The stars were incredible the Saturday night that
wintrmute, Erin and I headed out of Melbourne to go to the Freedom of Movement dance party. That was the first time I had been out of Melbourne at night, while in Australia, and now I want to leave Melbourne again, and see more stars.

Dorkbot on Sunday in Melbourne had two speakers - the first talked about the trautonium instrument that he had made and briefly demonstrated it, and the second had numerous little boxes that made sounds that he thought would be cool to place in laneways.
--
The Japanese film festival at the ACMI had a variety of films on and on Sunday, I ended up seeing Monster X Strikes Back / Attack the G8 Summit!, which was very silly, and featured Guilala.
