Sinks at the Dragon Bar
On New Year's Eve, she always has too many expectations. She hopes that when it reaches midnight, she will be glowing in the dark and playing on swings or lying in a corn field grinning at the moon or whispering half-remembered song lyrics at shadows or skipping around the woods with streamers. She's not fictional enough for any of that though, so actually, on New Year's Eve, she'll be happy enough just to get drunk with friends or perhaps even strangers.

Australia always was a bit better for NYE parties than the northern hemisphere, I think. Roam free during the short warm night along the beach or into the scrubland, and use the sound of the hi-fi to relocate your friends later.

I may be being slightly homesick at the moment.

Your party was fun even without a beach or scrubland. :) Thanks for inviting me.
