Rhossili Bay

I went on my first proper going somewhere holiday since the pandemic! I went to Swansea and it was amazing. I stayed in an apartment with a wonderful sea view, so spent a lot of time staring at the sea.

I scrambled across rocks to get to a dragon-shaped tidal island (Worm's Head) with limited time to get on and off the island before the tide came in again. I saw tiny crabs, sea anemones in rock pools and pretty seaweed. And then, when I had finally reached the island: seals basking on the rocks! I felt so lucky to see them.

I walked on Rhossili beach and watched the surfers, and saw the shipwreck, Helvetia, surviving still, half-buried in the sand.

I wandered around the houses of Port Talbot, looking for street art, smelling the steelworks. I saw the Banksy through the too reflective windows. Underneath the motorway bridge, I stared at the letters H O P E, that only spell "hope" if you look at them from a certain angle.

I visited Barry Island and walked around the headland.

I saw some beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

I watched people mark out a labyrinth on the beach, and then walked the labyrinth later.

I walked up to Mumbles Pier, and then onwards, over a clifftop path and to Bracelet Bay and Langland Bay, where there were many rock pools and I saw sea anemones.

I ate twix ice-cream, apple crumble ice-cream, clotted fudge ice-cream, and Welsh cake ice-cream.

I visited Kew Gardens with work friends and we stared at giant lily pads and learnt about carnivorous plants and walked through the gardens.

I celebrated my mum’s birthday with her and we had cake and I blew up balloons.

I visited Beckenham Place Park and watched people on boats on the lake and swimming in the lake.

Some Ingress friends visited and did some banners and we walked many miles and visited a few pubs.

I walked around Crystal Palace with my mum one Saturday and we saw the dinosaurs.

Tentacles are continuing to take over London and I saw some at Leadenhall Market.

I saw work by Jenny Holzer outside the Tate Modern, projected onto the side of the building.

I ate ubelicious ice-cream and pumpkin spice ice-cream.

I walked from Teddington and around Bushy Park and saw deer, and then to Kingston.

I walked from Woolwich to North Greenwich, doing an Ingress banner, and saw the Thames Barrier and a rainbow.

I attended Ingress First Saturday in virtual Bradford and helped solve the passcode challenge.
