Pregnant with what?

A man stopped walking towards me, and I didn't understand at first that he was asking the time. He then asked if I was pregnant. It was about 4.32pm and I replied that I wasn't, and he said something resembling "awww", before stating that it was later than he had imagined.

These people exist on a different plane of existance from us. They see things we don't. Perhaps you are pregnant and people have been keeping it from you, hoping you wouldn't notice?

i'm thinking it was a botched pickup line. mayhaps if it weren't 4:32, and was, say 3:32, he would have offered to whisk you away to the nearest hotel room and impregnate you.

I think maybe he was just confused, had mixed up the phrases, or was from some place else, where that's a pleasant thing to say.
