I attended a stay at home Ingress First Saturday in Cambridge, with the Corpus Clock as the start portal and then a week later, visited Cambridge and that portal. It is a wonderful clock.

At the start of September, I visited Folkestone and Margate and walked by the sea, and it was amazing.

In Folkestone, I drank takeaway coffee and ate cake from Steep Street Coffee House while staring at the waves. I walked through the former train station and onto the Harbour Arm and stared down at the Gormley, hiding in the sea.

In Margate, I walked by the sea and did an Ingress banner and ate good ice-cream.

I visited my mum in Kent and walked in the woods.

I arrived at King's Cross too early and the swing in the giant bird cage was not there to swing on. I bought a coffee, wearing a mask, and my name was misheard as "Daisy". I sat by a large photo of a bluecap waxbill, while I drank my coffee near to the empty bird cage. I met [profile] hovis in Cambridge and we went to the Kettle's Yard gallery and saw an exhibition on Linderism and looked at photomontages and listened to music. We ate falafel from a market stall and delicious ice-cream. I ate gooseberry sorbet and fermented amarena cherry sorbet. We walked along the river and through meadows with cows in and walked more than 15 miles in total that day. A bumblebee became quite attached to [profile] hovis and accompanied him for a while and they became good friends, although the bee decided against coming to the pub with us. It was my first time in a pub (garden) since March.

I visited the Barbican and went to the Curve gallery, then stared at the water outside and walked along the high walks. I caught a tube to London Bridge and ate mascarpone and fig ice-cream at 3Bis and did half an Ingress banner. I walked past my office and found it was still there! I bought a book from a bookshop for the first time since March. I ate sushi.

I returned an overdue library book that I’d had out since about February.

I tried kiwi berries for the first time.

I finished Milkmaid of the Milky Way and played a few other games, such as Sewer Rave, Catlateral Damage, Civ, etc.

I played The Night Journey, Shutter Stroll, Tales from Off-Peak City, and Fugue in Void with [profile] hovis. We also spoke on Skype.

I met a friend in Wimbledon and we played Ingress.

I sang along to songs at Maraoke.

I went to a crafternoon organised by [personal profile] jacquic and made a pop-up card.

It was Open House weekend. Unlike most years where I dash around trying to see all the things, I didn’t see much this year. I visited Blackbook Winery and drank wine from a paper cup on an industrial estate. I did a “20 years of TFL” self-guided walk and got a bag at the end for visiting all the sites! I did a self-guided art tour of Hackney Wick. I tried to stare at buildings more than I normally do. I stopped for ice-cream at La Gelatiera in Stratford. That evening, I met up with [personal profile] the_elyan in St James’s park and it was great to see him!

I visited the Antique Breadboard Museum and saw lots of breadboards. I did a self-guided tour of modern art in East Putney, then sat by the river for a while, in Wandsworth Park.

I also read the Open House book, which this year wasn’t so much a guide, but was interesting anyway. I watched some of the Open House videos, but that made me want to visit the places in real life more.

I went to BarCamp Manchester online and listened to some interesting talks on topics such as whether language shapes our thoughts and on dolls’ houses.

I tried Inka (a drink that tastes like coffee) for the first time.

I spoke to [profile] cerebros_vivos on the phone.

I did an Ingress banner in Isleworth and walked near Syon Park and saw cows.

I explored a few of the universes in the virtual Burning Man, and then on burn night, burnt my own tiny man made of sticks and string in the garden.
