What I did in July 2020
Aug. 3rd, 2020 04:36 pm
I was the Enlightened leader for a stay at home Ingress First Saturday! We had over 100 players attending, decoded the photo challenge, submitted selfies, and recharged some portals.
I went to the last two lessons of the Sound Art class, and continued with my turnip sound art project.
I went to see an exhibition in Marble Hill Park. There were pictures from The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse by Charlie Mackesy.
I went to a Zoom crafting session, and a Zoom housework session, organised by
I continued running and playing Zombies, Run!
I ate Waldviertler grey poppyseed chocolate, scarlet runner bean chocolate, and sweet potato-passionfruit-polenta chocolate.
After 4 months of solitude, I actually braved the trains and joined a support bubble and stayed with my mum for a few weeks. It was so amazing to spend time with her!
I walked up the fields and into the woods, and stared across at the purple of the lavender fields. I visited Ye Olde Woodland Arms, which was a little camp in the woods, as opposed to a pub, but there was a sign with the name on. Many butterflies fluttered by, including white admirals and peacock butterflies.
I visited the castle and wandered amongst its walls and then in the former moat.
I saw the comet Neowise briefly one evening.
I walked to Lullingstone and to the purple fields of lavender and they smelt wonderful.
I saw all 8 pieces of art in the village art trail. These were quite difficult to find, as no map or even a list of the art seemed available. They were things like: a bug house in a meadow, a small picture of a shell just inside the church, a flat metal cow on a gate by some cows, a carved tree in a wood, etc.
I walked to Farningham.
Sometimes I ran by the river and to the Roman Villa and past foxes, rabbits, squirrels and ducks, and sometimes I tried to run up the hills, but that was difficult, but running down the hills in the fields was more fun.
I went to online Maraoke twice and sung along from home.
I watched the competitions for the FieldFX demo party on Twitch. Some great demos!
I saw pretty sunsets and butterflies.
I visited Otford, which is famous for its duck pond roundabout and scale model solar system. I did an Ingress banner and wandered around, past the palace and past Mercury, and along by the river and then walked on to Shoreham.
I played weekly games with a group of friends, such Scattergories, Scribble, Codenames, etc.
I did an Ingress banner in Richmond, which was my first Ingress banner for months.
