Reflections

When September started, I was in the desert, but wrote about that in last month's write up. Weeks later, I was still waking up confused at where I was, thinking I was still there.

Onto London then:

I looked at sculptures in the Frieze Sculpture Park and was confused that I did not need to cycle between sculptures.

I saw rainbows in Richmond.

I ate purple shiso leaf ice-cream.

I lost hearing in one ear, but had it cleaned and that fixed it.

I went to a colleague's leaving drinks and then to the London Burning pub meet, where I swapped tales with people about Burning Man.

I visited the Bargehouse Gallery and listened to sounds in a tube filled installation.

I wandered around the Postbox Maze in the Brewer Street Car Park and listened to letters that people had written, such as letters by Alan Turing and Spike Milligan.

My mum and I continued with our monthly seaside trips and explored Newhaven. We walked along cliff tops and stared at the sea. We wandered by the river and saw cormorants. We laid on the pebbly beach for a while in the sunshine.

I went to Colourscape on Clapham Common, which I really enjoyed. I ate vegan chocolate fudge cake and had some coffee while I waited and then put on a red cape. I walked through the coloured rooms of what was like a giant tent and enjoyed the colours and twirled around in my cape. I found the middle and Chinese percussion music was being played and there were dancers as well, so I sat there for a while, watching, enjoying the music and the colours.

I did an Ingress banner that started at Clapham Common and ended up at Clapham North, and then I wasn't sure what to do next, so headed to Canary Wharf where I went for a walk and did another Ingress banner so that I met my step count, and took photos of reflections.

For Open House weekend this year, I went to:
Master Shipwright's House
Greenwich Pumping Station
Seager Distillery Tower
Altazimuth Pavilion
Devonport Mausoleum
St Alfege Church
St John's Smith Square
South East London Combined Heat and Power
Roman Plunge bath
HQS Wellington
London School of Economics
Hampstead Old Town Hall

I saw a sofa made of ties at the Master Shipwright's House, saw photos of the surface of the sun at the Altazimuth Pavilion, admired the views from the Seager Distillery Tower and from LSE, and stared into fire at SELCHP.

I caught up with old classmates one evening and [personal profile] the_elyan another.

I ate apricot and sour cream ice cream and listened to sounds of ice melting at the Canal Museum, visited Apsley House and Banqueting House, and played the glass armonica in the Benjamin Franklin House. I made vagina bunting and listened to comedy and looked at exhibits in the Jewish Museum and Vagina Museum. I stood in a queue on Tower Bridge for some hours in the rain and did not dance at a silent disco on the glass bridge, but that's okay, there are other bridges to dance on.

I watched strange videos at the Zabludowicz Collection. I bumped into [personal profile] doseybat and [personal profile] verazea and ate apricot kernel butter ice-cream.

I wandered around Ravenscourt Park and did an Ingress banner.

I saw the Asset Strippers exhibition at the Tate Britain and stared at machines, then did some of an Ingress banner that took me on a walk from there to Mansion House. I ate mermaid decoration covered ramune ice-cream.
