I had it with my vegan sausage at Herman Ze German. Since I've never had mate before, I couldn't really tell how mate-y it was. I quite liked it - a fizzy pop that wasn't too sweet but not too herby or bitter. It's not the kind of thing I could see myself drinking lots of, but I'd definitely have it again.
