What I did in December 2016
Jan. 5th, 2017 11:22 am
Watched people dressed up as smurfs, fried breakfast, Super Mario Brothers, etc, all ran into the sea in Folkestone for the Boxing Day Dip. (Perhaps I'll participate next year!)
Gazed upon the crumbling remains of a building and looked at pictures of trees that looked as if they were behind mist. (Alex Hartley: After you left at the Victoria Miro Gallery.)
Took a trip to St Albans and celebrated Kate's birthday and ate stuffed courgette flowers and halloumi with quince jelly, and walked beside the River Ver.
Sipped mulled wine and watched people ice-skate at Winter Wonderland, with colleagues.
Sang "happy birthday" to Baby Jesus, sung carols, chanted "Je-sus!" a bit, and ate Christmas dinner with friends at the Rochester Castle (Wetherspoons), for Bleak Christmas.
Stared up at the ceiling of the new Design Museum, which I visited with

Gazed at a large block of melting ice that had a Christmas tree inside it. (Alex Chinneck's Fighting fire with ice-cream.)
Tasted a delicious cronut at the Dominique Ansel bakery. (It tasted of rose, and of hazelnut!)
Caught up with

Spent Christmas in Folkestone with my family and we played Dixit and Carcassonne and stared out at the sea and walked along the beach.
Walked to Sandgate, past beach huts made of what used to be the crazy golf course, and past Mermaid Beach.
Had coffee and cake in a coffee shop that was full of books and art made from books and you could draw on the tables with chalk, so I did that.
I ate ice-cream and sat on the beach and it was actually quite warm.
I watched beautiful sunsets and sunrises over the sea and the sky was so pretty then.
I walked past the dinosaurs and sphinxes at Crystal Palace, and played the musical instruments in the garden of the Horniman Museum, while on a walk organised by

I walked around a giant golden apple and swayed from side to side looking at the patterns on a metal sculpture at the Frieze Sculpture Park with

I peered into cases full of objects and pictures related to mental asylums at the Bedlam exhibition at the Wellcome Collection.
I ate pizza with sweet potato and rapini at Franco Manca.
I dressed up as a Knight Tube for New Year's Eve.
Ingress:
I wore shoes that glowed green at the monthly Ingress social and generally felt fabulous, chatted with friends I've known for a little while now, and met new people, and everyone going into the pub complimented my shoes.
I wandered through Richmond, only to find some members of the opposite team were doing missions and were nearby, so had a quick drink with them.
I completed the 12 days of Christmas missions and then met up with

I wandered around Kingston and did the The Power is Yours banner.
