Parakeets and Tamarind Drink
Jan. 12th, 2012 11:11 pmIn the Marble Hill Black Walnut, parakeets sung, and a jackdaw stood underneath the tree, on a fence-post, watching me.
I don't remember the first time I saw a kite in the sky and I have never read a book about ballet. At the Orleans House Gallery, in the Flux, Flow, Flight: Art in Motion exhibition, a person told of the first time they saw a kite flying, and there were books about ballet, in cabinets, behind glass, so that wasn't the first time I read a book about ballet either.
I wore a mask that evening and pretended to be a cow, and then later, a rabbit, but took off the masks to sip the strawberry cider kisses (made of real kiss juice?) and the tamarind drink, and to be impressed by the Tetris gingerbread, and the house, which was not really a crazy golf course, despite the golf clubs hidden in the bathroom.
